Color Matching
While the fundamentals of screen printing have not changed much over
the past 58 years, our ability to achieve precise color matches has grown exponentially. Technigraph is widely recognized as an expert partner for companies that need consistent color matches across multiples products
and substrates. We can even replicate color matches across different
printing processes.
Most customers supply our color specialists with Color System swatches such as Pantone, Toyo, etc., that specifying the color(s) they wish to use. Our Ink Lab will formulate inks to match not only the color, but also inks that are particularly suited to the substrate and conditions of use. Technigraph will submit 12 samples for customer approval. Six are to be retained by the customer, and six are required to be returned to Technigraph, signed and dated, for Q.C. monitoring.
Certain colors may require a more precise and complicated color match. The desired opacity of the ink, the color and opacity of the material being printed on, and the color and density of the product inside the container can all impact how your screen printing appears on the final package. Metallic inks can present their own set of challenges, depending on how light reflects from the printed surface.
With many years of experience under our belts, we can usually find a combination of ink formulations that gives you the look you desire. It also helps that Technigraph has developed strong relationships with ink suppliers around the globe, giving us many options for environmentally-friendly UV ink colors that make your printing pop.
