Nioxin Nioxin

Technigraph has been the primary decoration house for Nioxin products since 2002. Nioxin’s wide variety of containers present two particular challenges that require exceptional quality control.

First, the Nioxin banner color used on many of its hair care products is a metallic copper. Metallic inks pose a particular set of control issues that if not managed expertly, can result in color variances from bottle to bottle. These differences are never more apparent than when displayed side-by-side on a salon shelf. Technigraph standardized Nioxin’s copper color using custom ink formulations for different materials and container colors. Through inline electronic tests, we ensure the inks on all containers fall within the tolerances approved by Nioxin.

Second, Nioxin’s visual brand includes a unique design element with tolerances of less than 1/32 of an inch. Each product in the line is identified by the placement of a “designation symbol” imprinted directly in the center of the raised icon. There is literally no room for error - any registration problems would detract from the premium look of the product.

To enhance the premium perception of the brand, Technigraph developed a proprietary, texturized ink used for the “designation symbol” on each package. Using specially designed tooling, we imprint the metallic symbol precisely in the center of the icon. The texturized ink allows the consumer to both see and feel the raised icon on the package.

In addition to the Nioxin bottles, Technigraph also decorates its flex tube products with the same color match inks and precise registration. Technigraph sources the bare tubes, holds them in inventory, and eventually prints them to meet the release dates and quantities established by Nioxin. This has allowed Nioxin to lower its lead times from four to six months, down to a few weeks.
