Blistex
Blistex is a well known brand of personal lip balm products, which are available in both a rigid tube and a .25oz jar. These containers and the closures for the jars are manufactured for Blistex by Magenta Corporation, a long time supplier to Blistex. Through Magenta, Technigraph was asked to supply a screen printed multi-colored closure for Blistex lip balm jars.
The closures, unlike anything available at the time, could not be decorated on a commercially available press. To meet price points and the volumes required, Technigraph designed and constructed our own equipment specifically purposed for the Blistex line of jar closures.
Using environmentally friendly UV inks, the press is designed to achieve high rates of production to match Blistex sell through volumes, which vary greatly by season. In addition, the press can apply registered multi-colored prints on the top of the closure and copy along the side, all in-line with a single in-feed system.
